"Ari, can you make some hoagie sandwiches for the party tomorrow?" That was the question I was often asked; of course I said yes. These mini hoagies were at every family event and company parties. I would prepare two pans of delicious turkey hoagies and one pan of ham hoagies. I had to make more turkey since they tend to be everyone's favorite. At each gathering, my mini hoagie sandwiches are always the first to vanish from the table, often leaving only crumbs as evidence of their popularity. These sandwiches are not just simple to make; they are a crowd-pleaser. So whether you are eating them with chips at a picnic or with meatballs at a baby shower, they are light but satisfying. My personal touch makes them even more enjoyable!

Ari's Mini Hoagie Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Sub rolls

  • Turkey Lunch meat and/or Ham Lunch meat

  • American Cheese slices

  • Italian dressing

  • Banana peppers

  • Parsley flakes (optional; use for garnishing)

  • Aluminum lasagna foil pan (optional; use for packaging nicely)

Directions:

  • Turn your bread on the side and slice it on one side that way the other side is still intact (if you purchased sub rolls that is pre cut you can skip this step)

  • Break a slice of cheese in half and place both pieces of cheese on the bread side by side

  • Next fold each piece of lunchmeat of your choice and lay it in layers going across the bread (usualIy I use about 5-6 pieces of meat on a 6 inch sub roll)

  • Apply some banana peppers on top of the meat (I typically place the banana peppers in a single row from end to end on the sandwich)

  • Then I squeeze some Italian dressing inside of the top part of the sub roll (not a lot, just small drops going across; we don't want to soak the bread)

  • Now close the sandwich and cut it into mini sizes ( I usually cut them in 1-2 inch pieces; so a 6 inch sub roll should make about 6 pieces)

    Now it's time to enjoy!!

If you are making these for a party or just want them package nicely; follow the steps below:

  • Place the cut up mini hoagies in the aluminum pan (3 mini hoagies should fit in one row); for presentation purposes I don't put the end pieces in the pan

  • Complete previous step until pan is full and nicely placed (For a full pan I recommend 4-5 of the 6 inch sub rolls)

  • Place 1 -2 drops of Italian dressing on each mini hoagie and rub it across the bread

  • Lastly, shake some parsley flakes across the pan of hoagies to make them look just as good as they taste!
